 #Record Level Security in Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 :

For which purpose? 


The record level security is used in order to allow users to access a filtered or specific data in some screens. For example, you need to display a specific items list for the warehouse keeper, or you need to display a specific purchase orders per buyer group or purchaser user,... Etc. 


How to set a Record Level Security? 


In order to set an RLS role, you have to complete the below tasks :

1- Create a new role within appropriate privileges and duties 

2- Go to system administration module > Setup > Security > Record level security

3- Select "New" > then click on Next > Select the role on which you need to apply the RLS > then click on Next

4- in the displayed hierarchy of tables, you should select all relevant tables which monitors the needed filtered data. > Click on Next > Click on Finish

5- You notice that for the needed role a line is created for each table, in the RLS form, you select each one and you click on "Query" To set your filter. 


Finally, when you assign the RLS role to your user account, you'll notice the applied RLS.
